BABIES, BEST FRIENDS, BURGERS AND BUNNY KITTY.

my friends and i walked over to the tavern in south park for some beers and burgers. the walk over wasn't so nice, it was way too hot to be walking in my opinion but we made it. all sweaty but we made it. we ordered some stella's and burgers and boy did it hit the spot! that was one of the best burgers ever, spicy black bean veggie burger with garlic fries and tater tots. i think the tavern is one of south parks little treasure since we can bring the kiddos to play in the sand box while we eat and drink with friends. after the burgers we took our chubby butts to the daily scoop for some delish homemade ice cream and then on the way back we stopped at the empty lot where persue painted a bunny kitty mural at. it was a pretty perfect day for me today and the walk back seemed so much faster and a lot less sticky. getting ready for blogher now. xo Liz

DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO, A (mini) FOOD GUIDE.

okay so next weekend is blogher. i still haven't got my ticket and not sure if i will even be able to go due to the mister's schedule. anyhow, blogher will take place in san diego, just about two miles from my home and so i thought i could blog a little guide of my favorite places in san diego. of course once i started thinking about it i realized that most people would be too busy to even travel around and get to know the city. so here are some cool restaurants in downtown san diego close to the convention center. hotel or convention center food doesn't seem too appetizing to me. and if you're bringing your hubby and kiddo. the children's museum is just across the street from the convention center. kiddos of all ages love that museum. also beware, if you go into the mall in downtown, chances are you will get lost. the mall was designed to be like a maze and its really confusing, even after going for years.. its so frustrating when you're in a rush.

breakfast-brunch-lunch: CAFE 222
222 Island Ave., San Diego, CA
i suggest: peanut butter and banana french toast. my mouth melts every time i think about it.

lunch-dinner:  POKEZ -Mexican, Vegetarian food
947 E St., San Diego, CA
i suggest: tofu fajitas, not pictured but they're amazing.
dinner : RAMA Thai food
327 Fourth Ave.San Diego, CA
i suggest: pad thai and a cocktail. don't go here if you're eating on a budget.

note: if you want to visit the city, please let me know what you have in mind and id love to direct you in the right place. id like to think i can be of help considering ive lived here forever. :)

ONE AWESOME DAY

it had been since last october the last time we came to the new children's museum in downtown and boy did the kiddos have fun. we arrived around one and niko went straight to the painting area, got his hands covered with purple paint and went all in. somehow my jeans got full of paint too, and of course, his face, shoes and clothes were covered in purple. that was just the beginning. i really love this place because they always have different exhibitions for kids to play, think and create. i think i might have gone picture crazy here but i couldn't help myself. i was loving watching my babies have fun. they' have a little room with cd turntables and a mixer where niko had fun. he loves scratching records because his papa lets him do it at home so when he saw it there he was not even shy to show off his skills. luna wore the cutest little vintage dress i got from frock you. its the sweetest little dress but i am not sure she can wear it again. i kinda had a hard time taking it off, but i think im gonna squeeze it in again asap. anyways, this trip to the museum reassured me that niko really needs to go to school soon, only if i could get him potty trained.

Niko wore: shirt, target. jeans, h&m. shoes, old navy.
Luna wore: dress, vintage. leggings, old navy. sandals, handed down.

The Harbor!

After so many years of living in San Diego, we finally took a ride on the ferry! I know I've been on that boat before but I can't remember exactly... I do remember spitting my gum out to the ocean and it landing on an old ladies lap.. So embarrassing! The exciting part now was to take Niko there. It takes off from the Harbor in downtown San Diego and arrives in 15 minutes in Coronado. We were lucky to go on a Tuesday so we got to go to the farmer's market. It's a pretty small group of vendors but they had very sweet and very delicious strawberries! I recommend you take a ferry ride whenever you have the chance. It's $6.50 round trip and takes off every hour. It's great for a date or just spending time with the kids. Once you get to Coronado, there's a couple restaurants with yummy seafood and a beautiful view!!!
