DAY 13 : REMINDS YOU OF CHILDHOOD

i have learned many lessons as a new mom. well, niko will be three at the end of this month but as time goes i keep learning from simple mistakes. one of them is to not buy toys randomly. as time goes by and birthdays and chirstimas comes and bring so many toys they start to pile on and on. i have had days of frustration with boxes of toys that are kinda hard to get rid of. i have donated tons and still have tons. anyways, on to the main subject, i started collecting vintage toys for my kids and here are two cuties, alf and a pound puppy. these two guys were my favorite growing up. and in a way thats why i collect some vintage things. good memories for mama i can see still being passed down. in fact, one of luna's favorite movies is the 1986 hello kitty episodes and niko loves the 1989 super mario cartoons. those two cartoons, i don't mind. theres so many cartoons with so much intensity for kids. why do they have cartoons about the world ending? they're kids man, chill out. if you have the change check out the alf videos on youtube. he is pretty funny.

EVERY LITTLE THING SHE DOES IS MAGIC.

My Luna gives me smiles every day, we talk and play with her big brother and she loves us so much! I am amazed by every little thing she does. She's a little talker. She chews on everything she grabs and loves paper the most. Any kind she can get her hands on, magazines, books, letters and bills. She's a funny little girl with a sweet personality. I am nothing but grateful to have the best baby in the world. Most importantly, both of my kids are super healthy and happy. Niko was napping while we recorded this, that's why it's so quiet. ;) 

Another cute vintage toy i found for Luna! this doll is pretty rare, its a "Little Miss Marker" doll they made after the movie. Since the movie didn't do so good, they didn't produce too many and the dude that sold it to me said the maker of the toy "Ideal" is rare to put out dolls. So, that's why it's pretty special I guess. I googled and found her on Amazon for $65, I scored her for $12. It caught my eye because she looks like Luna so much.

LUNA LOVE

I caught Luna being naughty, getting into daddy's record collection. It's pretty huge and I really don't blame her. I think it's in her genes to love records so I think it's cute. I hope she has good taste in music when she gets older. So much of the new music is crappy who knows what future music is going to sound like. Luna is really into the keyboard we got at the swap meet too, it was only $3. Score! 

I found this dress at the Coronado craft fair a couple weeks ago. The bottom part of the dress is from a vintage pillow case and the top has a ladies handkerchief sewn in. Pretty creative ;) It will be one of Luna's Christmas gifts as I am not shopping at the mall this year. I am liking it and might make it a new rule. I love making rules. So this year I am supporting small and local businesses and not buying new plastic toys, only used and vintage. Can you dig it?  

Another cool present for Luna is this Vintage Fisher Price Two Tune TV. It's the original from 1966, found at the swap meet for only $5 and they reproduced it last year being sold everywhere now. I saw it at target but I'm glad I waited for the o.g.

Stuck at the post office for a week, was this little gem.
This is the second time the mail man doesn't bring my package.. or leaves a note!
Niko got a vintage chalk board yesterday. He opened it right before he went to bed and loved it! Not only is it a chalk board desk but it's magnetic and comes with magnets and these stencil cards that makes it fun to learn words. Niko just loves singing the ABC song and counts all day, going up and down stairs and his little cars when he lines them up, it's really cute!
