BABIES, BEST FRIENDS, BURGERS AND BUNNY KITTY.

my friends and i walked over to the tavern in south park for some beers and burgers. the walk over wasn't so nice, it was way too hot to be walking in my opinion but we made it. all sweaty but we made it. we ordered some stella's and burgers and boy did it hit the spot! that was one of the best burgers ever, spicy black bean veggie burger with garlic fries and tater tots. i think the tavern is one of south parks little treasure since we can bring the kiddos to play in the sand box while we eat and drink with friends. after the burgers we took our chubby butts to the daily scoop for some delish homemade ice cream and then on the way back we stopped at the empty lot where persue painted a bunny kitty mural at. it was a pretty perfect day for me today and the walk back seemed so much faster and a lot less sticky. getting ready for blogher now. xo Liz

PHOTO CHALLENGE: DAY 4 - INTERESTING LITTER

went on a pretty long walk today with my friends and babies and my neighborhood is pretty damn clean. i didn't spot a piece of trash the whole way until i ran into this hat in the middle of some plants and bushes. who forgets their hat? every time i see shoes in the street im like, really? you forgot your shoes? you walk all the way home and then think to yourself.. i could of sworn i was wearing shoes earlier. where could they have gone now?

PHOTO CHALLENGE: DAY 2 - STAYING COOL

today was one of the chillest days and i don't mean that literally. it was a perfect day to get out the house and be beach bums. luna and niko had a lot of fun, they love the beach more than anyone i know. luna played with the sand and ate some while she was at it. then she insisted in being inside the beach. she loves the water and didn't want to leave. my legs even got numb from being in the cold water for so long but it was pretty awesome. after hanging at the beach we got ice cream raoul and i got ice cream waffles and the kiddos got little cones. birthday cake and chocolate-peanut butter flavored with sprinkles. yum. after the ice cream we stopped at a record shop just a block away from the beach and raoul found a record for two bucks which is actually worth ninety nine bucks. score!

PHOTO CHALLENGE: DAY 1 - SELF PORTRAIT

the whole day went by today and the self portrait was one of the last thing to get done today. i am trying this out again, and it is in fact, a challenge. i tried doing a photo challenge in june and had a really hard time keeping up but here we are. it's august first and today is photo number one. i was encouraged by gina at oaxaca born to do the challenge and if you want to join the fun you can add your photos to this facebook page. we'll see how well i do at "keeping cool" tomorrow. i like to stay indoors but for a good photo im gonna have to do something a little more interesting. xo Liz

DAY 14 : SOMEONE YOU LOVE

i can't really think of anyone i love more than my two little bunnies. they love to dance, they make me laugh, they're extra cute, and they love the beach so much. i am so proud to be their mama.
EDIT:: as you can see i haven't been the best at keeping up with this photo challenge. i mean i have tried but life with the kiddos can be kinda hectic sometimes. i had to edit this post because i realized that i posted a picture taken a while back and not even by me. what was i thinking? so i will add a picture that i took that day (of someone i love) which is Luna. and i will keep the photo i had before just so you can see what a spas i am. i crack myself up, i tell ya.

DAY 13 : REMINDS YOU OF CHILDHOOD

i have learned many lessons as a new mom. well, niko will be three at the end of this month but as time goes i keep learning from simple mistakes. one of them is to not buy toys randomly. as time goes by and birthdays and chirstimas comes and bring so many toys they start to pile on and on. i have had days of frustration with boxes of toys that are kinda hard to get rid of. i have donated tons and still have tons. anyways, on to the main subject, i started collecting vintage toys for my kids and here are two cuties, alf and a pound puppy. these two guys were my favorite growing up. and in a way thats why i collect some vintage things. good memories for mama i can see still being passed down. in fact, one of luna's favorite movies is the 1986 hello kitty episodes and niko loves the 1989 super mario cartoons. those two cartoons, i don't mind. theres so many cartoons with so much intensity for kids. why do they have cartoons about the world ending? they're kids man, chill out. if you have the change check out the alf videos on youtube. he is pretty funny.

DAY 10 : ANIMAL + THE ZOO

well what a good way to blog my animal if not by going to the zoo.. it was a pretty fast trip to the zoo since we live less than a mile from the zoo its really no biggie. but the kids had fun and they have some amazing cold mocha drinks there. i live a block away from starbucks and you just can't compare. i love me some coffee. luna was the one who got the dirtiest and surprised me to see she had a couple of tantrums which rarely happen with her but she really liked the kid size sinks every time we stopped to wash our hands. she's such a cute little bug. saturday morning if i can get a ride (raoul took our only car to a show in ventura) niko is going to his first ever dance class. and its hip hop so its right up his alley since he loves break dancing. im so excited for my little guy! not sure if i've ever posted our little buddy rocky, he and his mommy (my bff) was at the park with us. isn't he the cutest little boy?! his voice just melts my heart.

Lynda gave each kid an organic lollipop and niko ate his right away. then got made because he wanted more.

DAY 9 : FRESH FRUIT

okay so i missed a day in the photo challenge, shoot me. i really tried to get a picture of the sunset but i just couldn't find it. today was kinda busy around these parts so i took this photo with my cell phone. we ran errands at target (one of my favorite places on earth), took the kids on a train ride, played at the park, and put the kids to sleep right before 7:30. that was my favorite part because i am super tired. i have so much laundry to do in the morning. but i want to wake up early and hit up a huge sale that will start tomorrow at a vintage store in hillcrest. hope i get lucky and score myself some gems. have a great night. xo Liz

we went to the zoo today and this photo was taken at the birds- hummingbirds exhibit. its pretty cool in there.
