BIRDS OF A FEATHER

niko and i got visitors, our beautiful friends liza and gia came over. we went to the park and liza and i got to chat while niko and gia played (and fought). it was a short but sweet visit. i am taking every opportunity to wear my sandals since i just got them fixed last weekend. i bought them when i was pregnant with niko bee but the leather part that connects ripped on one sandal and i let it sit there for a long time. i had missed those little owl sandals. and we are celebrating our anniversary this weekend, last night we went to sushi and the theaters to watch hangover 2 and tonight we will be in L.A., Raoul has a show and hopefully we can squeeze in some time for a date. love is in the air! xo

A PEACHY MOMS DAY

you know what they say... better late than never. and here is how i spent my mothers day. i received a sweet surprise the night before mothers day.. i walked in the house and my love had flowers for me and a mysterious paper bag. he and niko went shopping while luna and i were at a baby shower and bought me a really cute dress. they went to a local boutique down the street and i was so surprised. i really didn't see that coming. but more than that i was surprised how well he did with his purchase. i love the color and it fits perfect. plus he went to a local shop which is extra points. the next day, on mothers day, we met up with my dads side of the family for a family reunion. some of them live in l.a. and s.f. and some just about ten minutes away. i feel really bad i don't spend enough time with the family that live close to me but every time i see them we pick up right were we left off last time. we met up at a park and had some pretty delicious food. my sister made this amazing cheesecake with pecans and pineapples on top, yum. the only thing that sucked on mothers day was the wind. man it got pretty cold right before we left and i was wearing my new dress. if you read my blog frequently, don't be surprised if i keep catching up on here. sorry, bare with me. have a great week! xo Liz

FAMILY FUN

yesterday was a super busy day with my mom. i did her hair and took her to get her makeup done (by Valerie) for my nephews first communion. after the church we headed to her house and she had a lovely party with good food and a live mariachi band playing. the band was so good and they were all about seventeen - eighteen years old. its always so great to spend the weekend with family. the kids were so tired by the end of the day. i picked up my love last night too, from the airport. he was gone for five days and i am so happy to have him back. today i went to the swap meet and found a bunch of  vintage books for the kids... niko is really into night time reading. valerie and i shopped and looked around at super cool things and spent all our money, like to our last dollar. but our money was spent on super cool things. after getting home, the kids, raoul and i took a long walk in our neighborhood and stopped for some fish tacos. i love my neighborhood and the taco truck is high on the list of reasons why i love it so... here is what we wore saturday. this post is a contribution to steppin out on harpers happenings. i just love mandy's blog and store!
