THE EAMES HOUSE

i am hoping that this becomes a regular thing... when my friends can come up to visit and i get to spend the day out and about. i had been dreaming of a day like this. my friend tassia came up from san diego and spent three days with me. raoul took care of the kids all day and i got to visit museums, get a pedicure, went shopping, had lunch, breakfast and even visited a friend we hadn't seen in a long time. i didn't have to worry about anything, had adult conversations and enjoyed time with my friend.
on the day we visited the eames house i forgot my camera so these are phone pictures. such a special place this house is, and now its a historic home. we weren't able to take photos of the inside and indoor tours are way too expensive. the cool thing is you can see the entire living room and kitchen from the outside. the home is decorated so cozy and cute. i loved being there and was totally inspired.

MUSIC MONDAY, A POPPIN AND LOCKIN PLAYLIST

if you live in san diego chances are you have heard of the brass rail. its a bar in hillcrest and monday nights is eighties night. well, we went last week and i love the music so much. i miss going to eighties nights at our other spots though. one was in t.j. (porky's bar) but the sucky part was coming back to the u.s. and having to wait in line holding in your pee for two hours. sorry t.m.i. but for reals, they sold caguamas which are big bottles of beers they are 33oz. and the cigarette smoke would just ruin my eyes because in mexico, they don't have a law against smoking in indoor public places. so those two things i don't miss about porky's  but man, was that place fun. then there's shooters which is now a douche bar, and that was the funnest part of thursday nights way back before i had my little buggies. so, at the brass rail they play a good mix of eighties from depeche mode, cindy lauper, price, the cure, chaka khan, to newcleus. but this playlist is only the top breaking, poppin and lockin tracks. you see, its in honor of my little Niko Bee. he went to his first dance class this weekend at culture shock. he loves getting on the floor and spin around and do the robot. i don't know where he gets all those dance moves from but its pretty entertaining. although it took him a bit to get comfortable and open up he really wants to go back to dance class. half an hour into dance class he was jumping around and spinning and being his silly self. i really look forward to more dance classes in his future. oh and of course luna loved dance class too. hope you have a great week!

this is lynda, liza and i (liz) the three L's out for a night of fun. i love these girls.

FUN WITH FRIENDS

its almost the weekend and i havent shared photos of last frinday. lately i have been getting to spend time with friends so its been great. this particular day i met up with my good friend lynda and we had sushi and fancy drinks at one of my favorite sushi spots in san diego, harney sushi. harney's is located in old town san diego where all the tourist come but this restaurant is cool because they have random djs come and play really good music. every single time i go to harney sushi i get the exact same thing, flaming lip roll and a sonomono salad. and the drink is a pink pussy cat but last time i changed it up and tried two new drinks. check me out trying new things! we met up with two of lyndas co-workers who were so cool and funny and one of them was celebrating her birthday. afterwards we met up with a bunch of friends at a bar in hillcrest, (for my out of town readers, hillcrest is the gay neighborhood in san diego) we went to mo's and danced with our favorite people. we had fun and i enjoyed every minute with my friends. ah yes. i wore a sweater to the club, but at least it was a pretty vintage one ;)

FIVE. INCREDIBLE. YEARS.

i am so glad to be back home and sleep in my own bed.. although we will all be missing grandma, we were at her house for five days so im sure she needs some rest. niko and luna aren't the most laid back kids i know.. so raoul and i had our anniversary this last thursday but due to his schedule, we celebrated saturday, sunday and monday. yes! a three day celebration jam packed with all kinds of fun. our celebration consisted of, sushi and a tasty little drink called sake piƱa colada before going to the theater (we watched hangeover 2, not too thrilled about it). going to one of raouls shows in l.a. and hanging out with friends afterwards, (80's dancing was also involved) our friend busted out the robo cop, the cabbage patch, the running man, the kid and play dance, and of course the robot. the next day we took the kids to san pedro which was packed with mexicans and music and food. i would love to return someday soon. then we took them to the beach and to visit our buddies and their kids. monday night i got to go to my very first comedy club and it was the funnest thing ever. we went to latino night at the laugh factory in hollywood. i have to admit, i was slightly scared to sit front row because id be so embarrassed to get picked on but we sat in the perfect spot, not too close and not too far. we got vip tickets and it said to show up 45 minutes in advance so we got there about 30 minutes before the show and we were the first ones there thats why we took pictures in an empty theater (see below). it was so nice to hang out and order pizza and beer before everyone rushed in and joey medina came over and said hello, it was really cool of him. every single comedian was super funny that night. i can't wait to go back on a date with raoul or with a bunch of friends. either way i know it will be so much fun. and lastly our celebration ended with our beautiful kids. we came home today and are getting back to our usual routine tomorrow. ive gotta say, i have the sweetest life and i am grateful every day. cheers to a great summer! this is the unofficial beginning of summer ;)
