REMEMBERING COACHELLA

this is coachella weekend and tons of my friends are there right now. some are performing and some are dancing in the crowd. two years ago, when niko was only 10 months old we got to go because nikos papa was playing and it was awesome! even taking niko was cool, not that i would take him again but i still enjoyed myself and glad niko was there to watch his papa perform. on the way there i remember niko and i getting carsick but not sure which one of us got sicker... hmm.. its been a while. yes, i remember the heat but more than that, i remember the incredible music played that night. i only got to go one day out of the three and again i don't remember which day. wow, i thought i had a good memory, turns out i don't. and okay, i know my post isn't current, i know. not much happened this Sunday and i do kinda wish i watched my friends perform this weekend. its such a beautiful feeling to watch your family and friends perform their own music. i am so proud to have such talented friends and try to show support in any way i can. and watching my boyfriend play coachella with my baby boy next to me, an epic moment in my life. my friends went with us. in separate cars because raoul had to take off right after his set to perform again in L.A. so we rode back with our friends Liza and Raymond. Niko got to see M.I.A. perform and took pictures with his friends, Flying Lotus and Daedelus. i posted a few videos below but they're not very good quality. the one i recorded of Flylo isn't very good either since i recorded it while i was behind him. it was an overwhelming amount of good music! i loved it!  i can't wait to hear the coachella stories from my friends that are there! xoxo Liz

THE BRAIN OF A GENIUS

Raoul has been working on putting together a sample pack for the past two weeks and its been really time consuming. oh yea, whats a sample pack? its like a cd you can purchase but instead of music its beats producers can use to make tracks. for example, he's making folders with different  drums, percussions, bass, effects and vocals. i tell him, even being the girlfriend of a musician takes a lot of patience since i have to hear everything all day. the repetitiveness of the beats before they're even put together into a song can drive a girl crazy. it blows my mind that he can work on music and be laughing at the same time because he's listening to howard stern on the headphones. incredible. here's a look at his notes, which i find fascinating. thursday already? wow, the week flew by. luna finally gets her bang trim today. funny i have to make appointments at the hair salon for my one year old. her hair is out of control again. hope she doesnt move too much! xo Liz

FLASHBACK FRIDAY!

Ran into this picture of my love and I. It was New Years Eve 2007 and I was about 3 months pregnant, carrying our Niko Bee. Raoul was playing at a big hip hop show that night. There was tons of people, I got to see MF Doom, KRS ONE and had our New Years kiss on stage since he was playing at midnight. I cherish these memories so much. Once I became a mother I have been the happiest in my life, I truly appreciate each day now. xoLiz

L.A. Beatdown

Last Saturday I went with Raoul to see him play. The show was at the Music Box on Hollywood Blvd. It was a sold out show and the crowd was showing so much love! It was Christmas day and they had a big Christmas tree and lots of presents on stage, it was awesome. I wanted to share pictures of the wallpaper backstage with you, its all of our favorite artists' magazine and record covers. I got to wear the dress I got for my birthday from my bf Liza, she really knows my style! And below there are a few pictures of our friends and of course my love Raoul aka 6Blocc. The funnest part for me was hanging in the dressing room, being on stage is tiring for me. I like to kick it.

I MISS HIM!

He has been gone for over a month now and still has a couple weeks to go.. Currently in Russia, my love has been on his European tour playing in Siberia, Belgium, Poland, U.K., France and some other countries, I can't even keep up with his schedule. Some people ask me how I do it while he's gone for so long, I just do. It never gets easier for me and now Niko is the one who is so sad missing his papa. I miss kissing him and cuddling with him. I miss cooking for him. I miss taking walks in our neighborhood with him and the kids. I miss watching him play with Niko and Luna. I miss his music and silly dances and jokes. I miss watching movies and drinking wine with him after the kids go to bed. He is the cheese to my macaroni, the tapatio to my tacos, the only man i want to kiss. The smartest , funniest most amazing guy I've ever met. He's also the best dad in the world. I can not wait to see him! I LOVE YOU RAOUL!
