TINY FRIENDS

yesterday we met up with our friends at a park in long beach. somewhere in the middle since we live kinda far away from each other. it's still far since there's alwayyyys traffic in l.a. but we made it. i love how little kids are so fearless of falling into a big pond with ducks and turtles but man do i almost have a heart attack.

on Luna: vintage romper, salt water sandals. on Niko: shirt, shorts, shoes from good ole target

ONE LAST WEAR

since moving ten days ago i have cleaned out everyones closets so much that i realized we gotta go little kid shopping again. luna has grown out all her shoes, she only has vans and gold mary janes that still fit her... i just hate paying full price for things she will only wear a couple months. am i just stingy or do we all feel like that? anyway.. onto a funner topic. today luna wore this cute little vintage dress one more time... and these little moccasins that never really stayed on her feet to begin with. we went on a really fun play date with a sweet girl i met through instagram. i have met a couple mama's through blogging and instagram and as weird as it may seem to people who don't use these types of medias, its pretty natural to me. we have followed each other for a while and interact through there and email and instagram, blogs, facebook and even twitter can be so personal sometimes that you really do feel like you know these people. but its even better when you actually meet in person, then it just solidifies your friendship and the connection to these people. my kids had a lot of fun playing tag and playing in their cardboard house. i am so happy to have another mom friend that is so sweet and easy going. she even made me a pie with the apples from her tree. that was so thoughtful (and delicious!). being a mom of two in a city where i don't know anybody can get lonely... i just gotta remind myself to get in the car and just drive. there's a whole world out there and there is fun to be had.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

yesterday we had a picnic at a really cool park here in long beach.  el dorado park has so much space for bbq's & fishing & its also great for photo shoots. we spent our day looking at cute animals & birds, feeding the ducks & running around. it was a pretty perfect day so i really didn't see rain coming last night, but it rained and today has been spent indoors. i do have so many photos to edit & upload and post here on the blog but every day since i got back from san diego has consumed me with the randomest stuff. i have since downloaded the instagram app on my phone & i'm all about it! if you have ig you can find me at : peachonearth. i love all the filters you can use to change your photos. & let me tell you, if it wasn't for editing all the photos i post here would suck even more. i really need to take a photography class soon because my photography skills are very slim & it's really frustrating.
days spent with my family like this are the greatest to a mama like me, it's all i live for now. to have my kiddos have fun & discover new things with us. but i do want to do more things with my days too.. i have been struggling with balance ever since becoming a mom. i look at some moms & it looks like they have so much more going on for themselves than keeping up with the house & kids. i think this moment is where i start making lists & scratching them off. i will be back with photos from our easter. hope you're having an awesome day! xoxo Liz

CHRISTMAS WAS HERE.

am i the only one glad christmas is over? and am i the only one that was left on a tight budget after this chaotic, yet beautiful holiday? it seems every year i am in holiday denial where i refuse to be a part of it and give in to all the shopping.. and then it creeps up on me.. and i get excited.. once i start to focus on my own family and little ways to make it special, then its when i enjoy it. niko and i baked cookies on christmas eve and he put sprinkles on them, and some had cashew nuts.. we decorated the tree together.. (a couple times). our christmas tree was a disaster this year, we couldnt figure out if we wanted colored or white lights, then do we want bright colored ornaments or pastels? so it was kind of a mix of everything. papa did an amazing job picking a tree though! then we planned to get some family photos taken for christmas and the day we got ready to go was a mess and it even snowed in long beach. yea, long beach california. can't believe it snowed here too! but it did, and there went our christmas family photo idea. so i took some photos of the kids in front of our tree and it didn't work out like i imagined but.. i did it anyways. after all the mess, christmas day was so magical. niko woke up first and discovered he had a new unwrapped bike by the tree, papa and i were there to see his face light up and i took a bunch of polaroids to capture the moment.
this year (like every year) niko got an abundance of toys. such a lucky little boy, he got a bike, wii games, a basketball set, and so many other toys at grandmas! he even got a jeep power wheels! luna was pretty tough to shop for this year but i ended up getting her some books and misha lulu clothes, oh and a shopping cart with wooden play food. now i gotta prepare for her birthday in about five weeks! you know i'll need luck with that! :)

so before papa was back from his tour people were already putting up their christmas decorations and it was so cute because niko thought it was only christmas at their house.. and he always wanted to go to the neighbors house because they were having christmas. so when papa came home we had christmas at our house too. hence the title for today's post :)

OCTOBER FUN

okay so this month pretty much flew by, in the blink of an eye it was halloween. i havent been able to upload photos much lately so i am doing a quick wrap up for october.. thank god for my mother in law buying the kids costumes because knowing my procrastinator self i would of left it to the last minute and then i would of had problems with niko. i didn't get any  halloween decorations really but friday the kids and i made some with construction paper at grandma's house and they are just the cutest! we also made a trip to the pumpkin patch and hang out with some farm animals, and attempted to adopt a dog this month. the search for a pup continues.. so far its been heartbreaking and stressful. hope november is more calm and filled with more blog posts as i am ashamed of being a lazy blogger lately. xoxo

WHY I LOVE LUNA IN VINTAGE

i recently got this dress from hart+sew and its just the cutest thing ever. i love seeing my daughter in such pretty dresses. we went to my niece's party this weekend and luna rocked her dress with a high 1960's style pony tail, which she is making me want bangs right about now. i have been going back and forth in my head about bangs because they look so awesome but its a hassle for me to keep up with them. my hair grows super quick and getting to the salon is not always the easiest thing for me. anyhow, i wore a new vintage top that i wish came out better in these photos because i really do love it. but i will just have to wear it again just to show it off to all you fellow vintage lovers. have an amazing week, peace and ♥

EIGHTEEN MONTHS OF CUTENESS

i see my baby girl so big when i look at these photos but then realize she's still a baby. as time flies by i learn to accept that my little ones are growing and we will all be in different stages in our lives very soon. i am currently thinking of putting niko in a pre-school part time. and i will keep luna at home until she's three.
she learns everything from her big brother so she is so brave for her age. like, last week she went down the big slide and did a flip on the way down. she was surprised and had a look on her face like, what happened? but she didn't cry. she just dusted herself off and went about her business. and every time i go to the park parents stop to ask me about her hair and how old she is because her hair is almost at waist length. it just grows and grows. i don't even think its normal but i love her hair, so beautiful and shiny. these photos were taken on sunday, when niko was at his grandma's house. here is a list of some of luna's favorite things, in no particular order...
  1. milk
  2. her family

KAWAII TO THE CORE

we had some friends stay with us this weekend from l.a. and sunday we took them to balboa park because our friend margie loves gardens and so we hit up the botanical garden at balboa park which is just down the hill from our home. we wanted to visit the japanese friendship garden but didn't have enough time. also margie is from thailand and is an amazing cook. she cooked some incredible food for us one dish was chinese and the other one was thai. i should really get the recipe from her. anyways.. my camera died after taking about eight photos and this is all i got. and yes, niko just turned three and still loves his pacifier. i need help getting rid of that thing.. its been extremely hard to get rid of it. i take it away during the day and give back for sleeping but he still wants it and thinks he can't live without it. is there any tricks to get rid of it? it seems nothing works.

LUNA: dress, harajuku lovers. sandals, vintage.
NIKO: shirt, target. jeans, levi's. shoes, converse.
Luna at six months and now almost 18 months wearing the same dress.. It's the dress that keeps on giving. talk about getting your money's worth right? this makes mama really happy.
