THE SWEETEST COMBINATION

after about two depressing tough months without my seeing my family, i drove down to san diego and spent some time with my loved ones. my sisters kept the kids over night so i got to go out with my best friends and celebrated my birthday a couple days before. my sisters, mom and niece also celebrated birthdays days away from each other and the kids thoroughly enjoyed time with their cousins. before heading home the kids and i stopped at the swap meet and met up with friends for some good old bargain hunting. then we visited our friends dion and tassia and hung out for a while. since they live close to the swap meet they go there frequently and lots of things in their home are from the swap. tassia has such a good eye for things, i love her cozy home! a couple months back we all stayed at her house (she has a spare room). and while i was there i took photos around her house.. except i don't know which computer has the photos. but this time while we hung out in their bedroom i snapped some photos of the coziness they have built together. i really like the shoe rack by the ceiling. she has a shoe problem. obviously. she still has a ton of shoes in the baskets in the closet. anyway, i will look for the other photos and post them asap. it really warms my heart that my friends enjoy hanging out with my kids and  my kids love hanging with them too. its beautiful to timeline friendship through my kids age nowadays... and that they've met my kids since the first day they were born. i am so incredibly grateful to have them by our side through all these milestones, through the hardest times in my life and the most joyous ones too.

TINY FRIENDS

yesterday we met up with our friends at a park in long beach. somewhere in the middle since we live kinda far away from each other. it's still far since there's alwayyyys traffic in l.a. but we made it. i love how little kids are so fearless of falling into a big pond with ducks and turtles but man do i almost have a heart attack.

on Luna: vintage romper, salt water sandals. on Niko: shirt, shorts, shoes from good ole target.

BABIES, BEST FRIENDS, BURGERS AND BUNNY KITTY.

my friends and i walked over to the tavern in south park for some beers and burgers. the walk over wasn't so nice, it was way too hot to be walking in my opinion but we made it. all sweaty but we made it. we ordered some stella's and burgers and boy did it hit the spot! that was one of the best burgers ever, spicy black bean veggie burger with garlic fries and tater tots. i think the tavern is one of south parks little treasure since we can bring the kiddos to play in the sand box while we eat and drink with friends. after the burgers we took our chubby butts to the daily scoop for some delish homemade ice cream and then on the way back we stopped at the empty lot where persue painted a bunny kitty mural at. it was a pretty perfect day for me today and the walk back seemed so much faster and a lot less sticky. getting ready for blogher now. xo Liz

MUSIC MONDAY, A POPPIN AND LOCKIN PLAYLIST

if you live in san diego chances are you have heard of the brass rail. its a bar in hillcrest and monday nights is eighties night. well, we went last week and i love the music so much. i miss going to eighties nights at our other spots though. one was in t.j. (porky's bar) but the sucky part was coming back to the u.s. and having to wait in line holding in your pee for two hours. sorry t.m.i. but for reals, they sold caguamas which are big bottles of beers they are 33oz. and the cigarette smoke would just ruin my eyes because in mexico, they don't have a law against smoking in indoor public places. so those two things i don't miss about porky's  but man, was that place fun. then there's shooters which is now a douche bar, and that was the funnest part of thursday nights way back before i had my little buggies. so, at the brass rail they play a good mix of eighties from depeche mode, cindy lauper, price, the cure, chaka khan, to newcleus. but this playlist is only the top breaking, poppin and lockin tracks. you see, its in honor of my little Niko Bee. he went to his first dance class this weekend at culture shock. he loves getting on the floor and spin around and do the robot. i don't know where he gets all those dance moves from but its pretty entertaining. although it took him a bit to get comfortable and open up he really wants to go back to dance class. half an hour into dance class he was jumping around and spinning and being his silly self. i really look forward to more dance classes in his future. oh and of course luna loved dance class too. hope you have a great week!

this is lynda, liza and i (liz) the three L's out for a night of fun. i love these girls.
