SUMMERS ARE FOR PICNICS

this is what i call a perfect family day. for me, this is what i enjoy the most, a laid back day with my kiddos and my mister. we didn't do much today, just grocery shopped then i made some chicken burgers with avocado and jalapeƱos. i packed them in a used butter bucket since i didn't have a real container but thats what my mom used when i was growing up. we didn't really have topper-wear just recycled containers but you know what, it got the job done. recycling is flippin awesome that way. i also packed some chips, grapes and beer for raoul and i. we laid our blanket in the shade and busted out the bubbles and set my phone on the cajmere (house music) station on pandora. i love having the pandora app on my phone, it's like, who needs a radio anymore? right? right. the kids played in the playground and luna climbed all the way up to the swings, that little monkey girl. there are a few parks close to our home but i think this is our new favorite. today i also realized i have to make a quick stop to the fabric store. i bought this blanket at an estate sale and i am so crazy over this vintage patchwork blanket but its not really finished. i need to add some fabric to the back. and i need to do it asap since we will be using it a lot this summer. i might use it for one of our beds some day but for now its going with us to family picnics. the coolest part is seeing the kids play and laugh together. it makes my heart happy.
Luna : jumper, vintage (izod lacoste). shoes, h&m. headband, h&m.
Niko : shirt, kenneth cole. shorts, childrens place. sandals, stride rite.

  1. I love family picnics :) Must be a Mexican thing cause my mama still uses the same butter containers that you use. The only problem is that it s***s when you reach for the butter and you get leftovers..lol.

Love the pictures of your kiddos..always so happy :)

  9. It's totally not a Mexican thing to use old containers to pack food in...my family is as WASPY as they come, but my mum used to send me to school with old yoghourt containers of food. Ha. But now I'm old, I reuse them too!
Sounds like a great picnic outing. That is THE BEST thing to do on beautiful summer days.

  10. Oh, your picnic looks like so much fun!

I agree, we totally recycle all of our containers. Our favorites are the glass jars (although, probably not for a picnic with little ones!).

Your kids are adorable and I love Luna's jumper!
